Yesenia was raised as a kid who had an unquestionable gift for art, fashion and music. Also known as “Noni” her alias/ artist name, she is followed for her exceptional visions. She began to flourish through her childhood years and manifest into a variety of creative channels. At the early age of six years old, she learned to air-brush in an all adult workshop at her local neighborhood art store. This is where the magic began - growing up without much television, in a home where each sibling was productively talented.
Noni’s art is always transforming and evolving from canvas to instrumentals all the way down to her way with words with her music, & to production of the beat making itself. If you read close you will understand that her art has depth, rhythm, and movement even in sound. The use of color combinations, gestural lines, and taste for fine art are very much inspired by historical art and pop. Noni is a self-taught artist in all fields. Her brand projects a Pop Art vibration with a very eccentric and sometimes dark twist to her pieces and songs. She travels often to gain inspiration from diverse cultures, lifestyles, fashion designers, historical landmarks, nature and anything appealing to her eyes.
Artist Statement
My music, my fashion and my art represent my deepest emotions, and transitioning moments in life, which are coined by my personal fears, experiences and success. My arrangements throughout my paintings in color, rhythm and movement are schematic, inviting the viewer to move into a space of speculation. I like to use a variety of subjects and processes in each painting but I keep my methodology consistent. I layer familiar reproductions of visual and aural signs that showcase modernism as well as diversity. My paintings are carefully sequenced to evoke my visions into conceptually vivid pieces, grouped around specific themes and meanings. I rely on my desire for beauty, poetry, seduction, and domination. Each and every single piece contains a fragment of myself, each piece is created to unearth myself. My pieces have become vessels to my brightest and darkest thoughts.
